You do not have to run to lose weight. The most underrated calorie burner is simply walking.
NEAT stands for "Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis" – the calories you burn outside of exercise: walking, standing, taking stairs, fidgeting. For many people NEAT makes a bigger difference in daily burn than the workout itself. Best of all: walking barely tires you and does not hurt recovery.
A run makes you hungry and costs recovery. A brisk walk burns calories without driving up appetite, and you can repeat it daily. 7,000 to 10,000 steps add up over the week to a solid extra deficit – almost unnoticed.
Walking is the calorie burner, strength training protects your muscle in a deficit. Together they make sure the scale loses fat, not muscle. Cardio sessions are nice, but for most people the combo of lots of steps plus two or three strength sessions a week is more sustainable.
Pumpy turns your training into a game: camera workouts, streaks and friends. Join the waitlist and be there at launch.
